ATM Withdrawals — Not Currently Supported

Truss cards can't be used to withdraw cash at an ATM. Here's what that means and how to get cash out of your Truss account instead.

Are ATM withdrawals supported?

No. Truss does not currently support ATM withdrawals on physical or virtual Truss cards. This applies account-wide — there's no setting to turn ATM access on.

What happens if you try

An ATM withdrawal attempt with a Truss card will be declined. This isn't a sign of a frozen account, a spending limit issue, or a card problem — it's expected behavior, since ATM cash access isn't a supported transaction type on Truss cards.

How to get cash out instead

If you need cash on hand, move money out of Truss to an external bank account first, then withdraw from that account at an ATM as usual. You have two ways to do that:

  1. Standard ACH transfer: no fee, and typically lands the same business day if submitted before the cutoff (typically 4:00 PM ET), or the next business day otherwise.
  2. Instant transfer: for a 1.75% fee, funds go to a debit card in minutes, which is the faster option if you need cash sooner.

Either way, the funds need to reach your external account first — Truss cards themselves still can't be used at an ATM directly.

Note: Transfer timing depends on the method you choose — standard or instant. See the related articles below for current timing and fee details.
