Earn Interest on Your Balance & Your 1099-INT
How interest works
Truss accounts earn interest on your deposited cash balance. Interest is:

- Calculated daily on your available balance
- Credited to your account monthly
- Visible as "Interest payment" in your Transactions feed
No action needed
Interest is earned automatically on every dollar in your Truss cash account. There are no tiers, no minimums, and no opt-in required.
Your 1099-INT tax form
If you earn $10 or more in interest in a calendar year, Truss will provide a 1099-INT form by January 31st of the following year.
- The 1099-INT will be available in your Truss account and sent to the email on file
- Report 1099-INT interest as income on your business tax return
- If you earned less than $10 in interest, you will not receive a 1099-INT (but the interest is still taxable)
Tip: Keeping a higher cash balance in Truss earns more interest. Many construction companies use Truss as their primary operating account to maximize this.
