What's a Payment Request?

A payment request is a fast way to collect money without creating a formal invoice. You enter an amount and description, Truss generates a link, and the customer clicks it and pays — no account needed on their end.

Tip: Use payment requests for small, quick collections: deposit on a new job, change order payment, partial payment from an existing customer.

How to send a payment request

  1. Go to Quick Actions → Request Payment.

  2. Enter the amount and add a short description (e.g., "Job deposit — Martinez kitchen remodel").

  3. Choose how to send: via text, email, or copy the link to paste anywhere.

  4. The customer receives the link, clicks it, and pays by bank transfer (ACH) or card.

Tracking payment requests

Sent payment requests appear in your Invoices list with a "Request" label. When paid, they update automatically and show in your transaction history.
