Why disable QBO payments?

QuickBooks Online has its own built-in payment processing (QuickBooks Payments). If this is enabled, your QBO invoices will show a "Pay Now" button that routes customers through Intuit's payment system — not through Truss. To ensure all payments come through Truss, disable QBO's native payments.

Disable QBO credit card and ACH payments

  1. Log into QuickBooks Online.
  2. Click the Gear icon → Account and Settings.
  3. Go to the Payments tab.
  4. Under Online Invoice Payments, toggle off Credit Card and ACH Bank Transfer.
  5. Save.

Heads up: If you don't disable these, some customers may accidentally pay through QBO Payments. Those payments go to your QuickBooks Payments account, not your Truss account, and won't appear in Truss.

Tip: After disabling, add your Truss portal link to your QBO invoice email template so customers always know how to pay. See: "Add Your Truss Payment Link to a QBO Invoice Template."
